Ministry of Interior of Afghanistan Creates Security Unit for Forest Protection
New Security Measures Announced
Officials in the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Islamic Emirate have announced the creation of a specialized security unit aimed at protecting the country’s forests.
Mission of the New Security Unit
Basmullah Habib, the Deputy Spokesman of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, explained that this new unit is tasked with preventing illegal activities such as deforestation, smuggling of medicinal plants, and hunting of wild animals.
Enforcement and Legal Action
Habib emphasized that damaging nature and depleting natural resources are considered crimes. Those caught engaging in these activities will be arrested by the police and subsequently handed over to judicial authorities. Additionally, the export of medicinal plants has been banned to further protect these vital resources.
