Pakistani Military Expresses Concerns Over Increasing Afghan Taliban Involvement in TTP Activities

Growing Afghan Taliban Support for Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)

Pakistani military spokesperson Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has reported that more Afghans are joining the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). In the last month, Pakistani forces have killed 90 militants in operations.

Over the past eight months, the military has carried out 32,000 operations against militants, with around 130 raids happening every day. These efforts have resulted in the deaths of 193 soldiers.

Chaudhry also mentioned that terrorist groups in Afghanistan have gained access to advanced weapons left by the U.S. military. He urged the Afghan Taliban to stop supporting these groups, reminding them of the close ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Despite these tensions, the Afghan Taliban has said the Pakistani Taliban issue is a problem for Pakistan to handle, rejecting calls to hand over TTP militants. The situation continues to strain relations between the two countries as both struggle with rising militant activities along the border.
